SAMHSA – Call for Papers: Homelessness and Parenting

Posted in Health and Science on October 21, 2008 by landdgrantblog

Call for Papers:
Homelessness and Parenting

Homelessness and Parenting

The Homelessness Resource Center (HRC) is issuing an open call for 5 to 10 papers for a Special Issue of the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry focused on homelessness and parenting.

The Special Section will explore the needs of custodial and non-custodial parents who are homeless and identify the strategies that can support positive parenting skills. HRC will utilize a 2-step review process. Papers will be initially reviewed and selected by the Special Section guest editors led by Ellen Bassuk, M.D., HRC Principal Investigator. Selected authors may be asked to make revisions based on this review. Once complete, articles will be submitted to a blind peer review process. Final reviews and acceptances will be made by the guest editors and the editor of the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry.

Papers should be submitted by Monday, December 1, 2008, to Kristen Paquette at kpaquette@homelessnessandtrauma.com. Authors will be notified of final acceptance by March 7, 2009, with publication in July 2009.

Visit the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry Web site to learn more about the journal and instructions for authors.
